Facing Foreclosure
Many homeowners are in fear of loosing their home to foreclosure. The reasons range from job loss, job relocation in a market where the value of a current home is worth less than what is owed, death of the primary wage earner... and the list goes on. The problem is where does someone get help. I've heard countless situations where homeowners are having a hard time (for whatever reason), and they can't even get someone to return their call from their Loan Servicing company.
What do you do? Where do you go? Who do you talk to? Is there a way to work things out so you won't loose your home? What documents are needed? How long will it take? Can your loan be modified? If this sounds familiar to you or perhaps someone you know has shared feelings like this with you, then you might want to visit the site that Fannie Mae has created.
The site is called "Know Your Options" and its goal to assist those who are finding themselves asking those questions. In easy to understand language, this site could be what you or someone you know needs to help them get on the right track so they don't loose their home to foreclosure.
If you are stuck - don't just sit there; learn how you can work through these difficult times and perhaps there is a solution that will work for you. But at least you have a place where you'll find the answers to your questions or the resources to get you there.
Leave a comment if you have questions or have a situation you'd like to share.
